I agree with his idea about ADHD not being the epidemic that many educators believe it is. I feel that many teachers, in the frustration of trying to teach a completely new generation of students, are at a loss when it comes to grabbing and holding their attention. Teachers fall into the trap of this child needs help in focusing, when really we as educators need to find a way to bring excitement into what they are learning. I am not one that supports medicating students just for the point of helping them to focus. I have witnessed the bad side effects of this road and do not believe it is the "go to" answer for children that are having "focusing" issues.
